NOTE:
AHIP - Army Helicopter Improvement Program - program to arm scout OH-58D helicopters.
16 helos were converted from OH-58As between 1987-1988.
Helos were equipped with M2HB machine gun and a M272 launcher for 2 AGM-114 Hellfires or M670 7-shot launcher for 70mm Hydra rockets.
These helos attacked the oil terminals or boats captured by Iraqis.

Later, from serial 89-0212 from 05/1991, all OH-58Ds were capable to carry the weapons. All older airframes which survived, were retrofitted to be able to carry weapons from 01/1992.
Above is a a complete list of OH-58Ds converted to AH-58D AHIP attack helicopters. No guarrantee which airframes (except the identified on USS Nicholas and 86-08921) were there for Operation Desert Storm, so I list all the survivors. NOTE for modellers:

Helos used older type of AN/ALQ-144 jammer mount, check pictures. Also, they used taller (900 rounds instead of 500 rounds) ammo bin for the 12,7mm ammunition for the M2HB gun. They also carried curled up climbing ladders under both sides of the fuselage.
