Build of Gulf war Sikorsky MH-60A/L

Below is a list of changes to the Kitty Hawk 1/35 MH-60L kit made by Floyd Werner when he was building MH-60L "Super 61" from Operation Gothic Serpent from 1993.
The helos from Operation Desert Storm in 1991 were nearly identical in configuration. There is a difference between MH-60A, MH-60L and MH-60A DAP and MH-60L DAP.
I will try to list some tweaks and updates based on the Mr. Werner´s notes.

MH-60L

DO NOT ADD THE FOLLOWING ITEMS. Mark your instructions before beginning construction.

Step 01 - Seats ((B-B)) - E8, E24, E25 and E27
Step 02 - B5, D8, PE44, PE45
Step 03 - D28, B22, PE24, B23, Decal B3
Step 04 - F30, F38, F50, G27
Step 06 - D13, D14, D15, D16, F8, PE 37, F30, F50, F38
Step 09 - D7, G32, C52, E37
Step 11 - Recommend not adding C42
Step 13 - D66, D25, G24, PE33
Step 14 - D62, D63, GP24, GP25, Pilot and Copilot doors (B9, F7, B14, GP6, GP11 B10, B13, GP7, GP14)
Step 15 - Chaff dispenser (G25, G19, E29, F47)
Step 16 - Chaff dispenser (G26, G19, E29, F47), antenna F34, radar D19 and G44
Step 17 and 18 - Don’t use the wings or supports (entire top of page, except for Part G35 and G36 (see note below)
Step 24-27 and final unnumbered page - Omit entire page

Summary of changes:

01 - Install H-bar support (Werner’s Wings set 35-21) on ceiling for side facing crewchief seats
02 - Modify two seats in Step 1 (A-A) slightly with the legs pointed aft
03 - Reposition Fire Extinguisher - Part E33 in step "C-C" to the copilot seat frame right next to the center console
04 - Substitute cargo hook - Part D28 - with four ring tiedowns (Werner’s Wings set 35-21)
05 - Cut copilot (left side) collective - Part E16 - and rotate the control head 90 degrees
06 - DO NOT ADD the rear Part of the center console. Or use Werner’s Wings set 35-21
07 - Use smaller ammo cans (Werner’s Wings set 35-21) for M134 miniguns
08 - Remove rivet detail from Part B28 and Part B29. To be totally accurate these should be uncovered and show the hydraulic and electrical lines, as well as, the sheet metal detail
09 - Don’t make holes in Part B27
10 - Skip Step 6 ammo boxes, both types
11 - Don’t add the X antenna (Part C52 and G32) or antenna Part E37
12 - Don’t open the holes for the right-side chaff dispenser. Don’t install the right-side chaff dispenser - Part E29, F47, G19 and G25
13 - Don’t open the holes for the left side forward chaff dispenser. Don’t install the left-side chaff dispenser - Part E29, F47, G19 and G26
14 - Don’t forget to open up the two holes for the aft lower part of the tailboom. Not indicated in the instructions
15 - Don’t make holes for the antenna (Part F34) behind the cockpit
16 - Fill hole where Part D25 fuel drain goes, don't use Part D25
17 - Fill and sand transmission access panel just in front of Part D25 fuel drain
18 - Either cut Part G9/G15 to a point or use (Werner’s Wings set 35-21). Do not use GP24 or PE33.
19 - No pilot or copilot doors - do not use Parts B9, B10, F7, B14, GP6, GP7, GP11, GP14
20 - Check if the aircraft had FLIR installed - Part G22, G23, G24 and G33
21 - Open the correct holes for the left-side chaff dispenser. Use left-side M-130 chaff/flare dispenser - Part F47 and G20
22 - Cut Part G35 and Part G36 Strut covering so the bottom part is removed
23 - Add the ESSS covers (left and right) provided separately (not shown in the instruction). If not included in your kit, contact Kitty Hawk. (You can also find them in kit HH-60G - Parts G47 and G48, parts without the navigation/position lights
24 - Remove Transmission access panel on the right side of fuselage behind/below the rotor
25 - Remove strenghtening plates on the tailboom

MH-60L DAP

Use the same instructions as above, but:

Step 17 and 18 - use the wing pylons as is
Step 26 - use M260 19-round pods, Parts F84, F85, F86 and F87

MH-60A

Use the same instructions as per MH-60L, but:

Step 17 - do not use Part G38, just blank the gear sponson so it is not so wide (wider sponsons are external difference between A and L version) or use Part from Werner’s Wings set 35-27
Step 18 - do not use Part G39, just blank the gear sponson so it is not so wide (wider sponsons are external difference between A and L version) or use Part from Werner’s Wings set 35-27

MH-60A DAP

Use the same instructions as per MH-60L DAP, but:

Step 17 - use the wing pylons as is, do not use Part G38, just blank the gear sponson so it is not so wide (wider sponsons are external difference between A and L version) or use Part from Werner’s Wings set 35-27
Step 18 - use the wing pylons as is, do not use Part G39, just blank the gear sponson so it is not so wide (wider sponsons are external difference between A and L version) or use Part from Werner’s Wings set 35-27
Step 26 - use M260 19-round pods, Part F84, F85, F86 and F87
