This is a small overview of kits and updates for Gulf war H-46s of various versions
CH-46Ds were equipped with: guns, pointed EAPS, rescue hoist, bubble window - first window on the left side, round exhausts, short sponsons and composite rotor blades. They did not have Helicopter Emergency Flotation System (HEFS) sponsons installed.

HH-46Ds were equipped with: guns, pointed EAPS, rescue hoist, round exhausts, AN/APN-128 Doppler RADAR behind front gear leg, loudspeaker, bubble window - first window on the left side, optional bubble window - first window on the right side, short sponsons and composite rotor blades. They did not have Helicopter Emergency Flotation System (HEFS) sponsons installed.
CH-46Es were equipped with: guns, door armor, engine armor, AN/ALQ-157 IRCM, snub nose EAPS, AN/ALE-39 chaff/flare launchers on sponsons, rescue hoist, oval exhausts, small sponsons and composite rotor blades. They did not have Helicopter Emergency Flotation System (HEFS) sponsons installed.
NOTE: From 1986 till 1991, CH-46Es were converted from A, D and Fs. They got the new composite rotor blades, hydraulic system and comm/nav equipment. During 1990s, some 100 CH-46E/Fs got another update (as the V-22 was behind the schedule) in form of ENGLARGED sponsons.
CH-46Es during Gulf war had the original SMALL sponsons !!!
(follow your pictures, as some parts were optional - like rescue hoist, bubble windows, guns - and were not carried all the time).

You can use various iterations of Fujimi kits, but a lot of things is missing there, including composite rotor blades

To build Gulf war CH-46E, you have only two options (either of them bad :( )
1 - use Academy kit 12207 or 12210 and OOP set from MAW decals 48-R009 for small sponsons, but you will still need the correct composite rotor blades from Academy kit no. 12283
2 - use Academy kit 12283, but you will still need the original small sponsons from Academy kit no. 12207 or 12210 (Parts I1, I2, I3, I5 and I6)
