Hawks were bought at 1983.
6 Hawks escaped from the invasion to Bahrain and then flew to Saudi Arabia where later formed Free Kuwaiti Air Force.
Other 6 were stolen by Iraqis and returned to Kuwait after the war, and with big thanks to British Aerospace they were brought to flight status again.
Kuwaiti Hawks can carry 4 x AIM-9 Sidewinder.
