Build of Gulf war Lynx HAS.Mk 3GM

The build of Airfix Lynx in 1:48.
Not so easy, as you need Eduard PE parts for HMA.8 version (their Exterior set has the correct tail rotor grill - part no. 108) and a set from Rotor Craft RC48-06.

Parts from the kit you DO NOT use:

armored seats - 9B, 10B, 56D, 57D, 26B, 34D
inflatable seat - 61D, 63D (probably removed to save some weight)
classic cabin seats - 6D, 7D (probably removed to save some weight)
rear seat - 62D (probably removed to save some weight)
undercarriage - 5A, 20A, 91B, 92B, 3C, 30B, 5C, 2C, 39B, 4C
nose - 3A, 4A, 29C, 7A, 8A, 34B, 33B, 12B, 7C, 8C
FLIR - 32C, 33C, 45B, 77B, 76B
left door - 31C
IR jammer - 42D, 45D
torpedoes - 2 x 51B, 56B, 48B, 85B, 56B
door gun - 18B, 19B, 84B, 81B, 82B, 63B, 69B, 78B, 97B
hoist - seen only in one pic - 25B, 71B, 70B, 93B
tail boom - alter the part 27B by removing the "dome", glue it to the tail and putty both lines around it and sand smooth
engine cover - 30C, 6C, 35D, 22D, and probably 20D

Now step by step. Steps are from the Airfix instructions:

Step 1 - choose subassembly no. 3 only, the boxes are for Sea Skua missiles

Step 104 to 106 - as it is + add Eduard PE parts
Step 107 to 120 - Gulf Lynxes had the old, metal rotor blades. There are only BERP blades in the kit, so you have to adjust them according to RC48-06 set. Everything else - as it is + add Eduard PE parts
Step 121 to 126 - skip
Step 127 - as it is + add Eduard PE parts
Step 128 - Gulf Lynxes had the old, ANTI-CLOCKWISE tail rotor. The kit has the new, clockwise rotor. There are two ways to solve this. One, easier, is to take parts from RC48-06 set, the straight edge of the rotor blades must be on the left side. Other, the harder way, is to sand down the bulge for revezing from part no. 24B and cut off the rotor blades and glue them back so the straight edge of the rotor blades must be on the left side
Step 129 - with the ANTI-CLOCKWISE tail rotor, the Lynx had LONGER stabilisator. Again, two ways to solve this. One, easier, is to take parts from RC48-06 set. The harder is to use the kit part and use a plastic card 1,1cm long but you need to provide the "Guerney" flap on the trailing edge
Step 130 - as it is
Step 131 - use the tail rotor from RC48-06 set or the modified one from kit
Step 132 + 133 - as it is
Step 134 - as it is + add Eduard PE parts
Step 135 - as it is
Step 136 to 141 - as it is
